SHOREHAM AIRPORT
Record of Visiting Aircraft, 1945-1970
Compiled by Peter Campbell

Another book for long-time enthusiasts and historians, this should best be studied in conjunction with "Shoreham Airport, Sussex." A fascinating picture emerges of the development of postwar aviation at Shoreham, from the first civil aircraft to land in 1945 right up to the time when BEAGLE folded. Some unexpected types, including a Halifax, Meteor, Martinet, Cierva C.30, Firefly, Varsity and Herald, used this airfield even prior to the sixties, but you will have to search carefully to find exactly when! Much of the information is taken from the official Movements Books of the time, although the records of enthusiasts are also incorporated, with due acknowledgement. There are of course bound to be many many gaps, so any updates from readers will be very welcome.
