The M.100 Student is outside the basic Miles Aircraft history, since it was a private venture by F.G. and George Miles started in 1953. A two-seat side-by-side all-metal jet trainer, the Student was powered by an 882 lb thrust Turboméca Marboré turbojet and flew on 15th May 1957. Miles had hoped to secure an RAF order, which in the event went to the Jet Provost, and the Student did not go into production.
